Asia's education technology is estimated to reach a market valuation of US$5 trillion by 2020. The sector presents an immense potential due to high ownership of smart devices and deeper internet penetration, which has led to a rapid emergence of a fast-growing edtech ecosystem in Asia. The region is set to become the global ed-tech laboratory fueled with the aid of government policies, accelerator, venture capitalists, incubators and other key players.

Nuha Ghouse, CEO and founder of a Singapore-based ed-tech startup, Tutopiya, says: "The real value of ed-tech is in personalising learning for every student." And, she is right! Ed-tech is helping to inspire, engage and motivate students and is creating new ways of teaching, which otherwise traditional classrooms do not offer the level of learning which ed-tech provides.

Within ed-tech, the tuition industry is also set to achieve a billion dollar valuation, and is seen as a corner-stone in a student's educational success. Tutopiya is currently present in eight markets including Singapore, China, the UAE, Australia and the United States. The founder speaks about three emerging trends in the ed-tech sector which is making a significant impact — enhanced learning accessibility, data analytics for learning, and personalised learning.
