F45 Training Franchise

Want to get fit and run a business at the same time? Starting an F45 Training franchise is a great way to do it.

F45 Training is one of the fastest-growing fitness franchises in the world, offering a community-based and highly functional training system not seen anywhere else.

In a nutshell, F45 Training provides time-based, high-intensity, circuit training workout classes for its studio members. Over the years, the company has developed 27 distinct 45-minute workouts, and now it offers these classes to fitness fanatics and those looking to transform their bodies all around the country.

It offers variety, accessibility and a friendly atmosphere. Each workout relies on simplicity, so none of the exercises are complicated. As a result, it’s a great fitness location for young people, older individuals and people of all genders.

If you’re interested in starting an F45 franchise in the fitness industry, you need to know what to expect. Read on for more information.

Why should you start an F45 Training franchise?

First and foremost, you might consider starting an F45 Training franchise because the brand is highly popular.

The company launched in 2012 in Australia, and since then, F45 Training has grown astronomically to become one of the top franchise businesses in the fitness industry.

There are now thousands of F45 Training studios throughout the U.S. Business owners like you can join the trend by launching their own F45 studios and classes with a relatively short business startup sequence.

It’s all thanks to F45 Training’s turnkey philosophy and business model. Low franchise investment is necessary, as franchisees can take advantage of the equipment, technology and other materials needed to start and run an F45 Training studio successfully right from the get-go.

F45 Training only requires a one-off franchise fee and a very low, fixed monthly support fee for technical support and customer services. It offers plenty of tried-and-true systems and infrastructure, making the business easy to run, even if you don't have much business managerial experience.

Regarding the product’s value, F45 Training classes are popular because they are cost-effective, fun and accessible. It incorporates good fitness class training philosophies with technology to make working out with high-intensity circuit exercises achievable and enjoyable for everyone.

What are the franchise territory policies for F45 Training?

F45 Training’s territory exclusivity policies are relatively standard compared to the rest of the franchise industry. It grants all new F45 franchise owners some territorial protection, but you never receive an exclusive territory.

In a nutshell, this means that you may have to compete with other F45 Training franchise locations if you wait long enough or if your franchise location is not successful enough.

Fortunately, you get to select the site for your fitness studio from within a designated geographic area that you and the franchisor agree on. Thanks to this, you can do a lot of market research and determine which areas in your local community would be best for setting up a new fitness studio.

For instance, if you notice that there isn’t a local gym in a given neighborhood or shopping center, that could be a perfect place for your F45 Training franchise location.

What franchise resources does F45 Training offer?

F45 Training provides many different support resources for new franchisees.

First and foremost, F45 Training provides exceptional marketing assistance. This includes advice on promo campaigns before and after you launch advertisements.

Furthermore, F45 Training gives all franchisees access to comprehensive, beneficial collections of digital and conventional marketing materials, like posters or PPC ad templates. F45 Training even tells you how to effectively employ these to build brand awareness in your local area or community.

That’s not the only support you’ll receive from F45 Training as a new franchisee. Ongoing support resources include:

  • Access to meetings and conventions so you can develop your managerial skills.
  • Grand opening support that ensures your first few weeks of operation go smoothly and bring a lot of new workout fans to your fitness center.
  • Field operations support and online support portal access, giving you aid when handling customer service issues or when building brand loyalty.
  • Access to the franchisee intranet platform.
  • Training and support for security and safety procedures — a key concern, especially given that your customers will be performing physical exercises in your fitness center.

These resources will help new business owners get a handle on their fitness studios. They can be invaluable if you have some managerial experience but don’t know what it takes to run a fitness center specifically, which operates on a different business model than other enterprises with regular sales instead of subscriptions or classes.

How much does starting an F45 Training franchise cost?

Compared to many other franchise opportunities, F45 franchise costs are relatively accessible.

First, you must pay an initial franchise fee of $50,000 to become a franchise owner. F45 Training also wants to ensure that you or your business has $300,000 in cash or liquid capital, which will help you pay the initial investment of between $350,000 and $565,000. Your upfront total will be specified on the franchise disclosure document (FDD) and include the marketing fee.

The total investment to start an F45 franchise may sound like a lot of cash, and it is. But on the plus side, the royalty fee is just 7%: much lower than the royalty fees seen with other franchisors nationwide.

Furthermore, you’ll only have to pay a relatively low ad royalty fee of about $200 monthly. You can access F45 Training’s marketing assistance and other support resources in exchange.

Your agreement term for signing the Franchise Agreement is five to 15 years. If all goes well, you can renew the business opportunity with the same or improved terms depending on your profit margins.

Is there financial assistance?

There sure is. F45 Training offers financing assistance through third-party resources, like lenders, to help you cover franchise fees, inventory fees, equipment fees and other start-up costs. You can even get financial assistance to cover payroll: an invaluable benefit as you try to attract the best trainers and support staff for your F45 Training franchise location.

On top of that, veterans who become F45 Training franchisors get access to a special offer: up to 50% off the initial franchise fee. With this offer, you could only pay $25,000 for the initial franchise fee instead of $50,000.

What kind of training will you receive for your F45 Training franchise?

To make sure you can run your F45 Training franchise location correctly, you’ll have to complete a comprehensive training program.

This includes 10 hours of on-the-job training and 64 hours of classroom training, both of which combine to teach you the business principles and methodologies needed to run your F45 Training location. Some training also incorporates the exercises you will be expected to teach at your fitness center.

Regardless, you must attend an orientation seminar in Austin, Texas. This takes place over five days.

After that, you and your general manager, if applicable, must complete an initial online training program. It includes instructional guides, webinars and other training information programs. All of this will combine to give you the tools you need to succeed in this competitive industry.

Do you have to operate your F45 Training franchise personally?

No. F45 Training’s terms and conditions state that franchisees who signed the franchise agreement just have to designate a specific individual to serve as the operating principle. That’s essentially the manager for the franchised location.

However, franchisees must be the operating principals if they are individuals instead of companies. While you have to be the operational manager for your F45 Training location, you don’t have to participate in all fitness classes.

That said, it may be a good idea to do so anyway. After training with F45 Training’s corporate leaders, you might have the tools you need to get in shape or lose weight, depending on your goals.
